Low Pressure Drone Soft Wash

Understanding the Method

What Is Roof Soft Washing?

Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning method that uses biodegradable cleaning solutions to kill and remove algae, mold, mildew, lichen, and moss at the root level — rather than blasting them off with high pressure.

High pressure cleaning can damage certain roofing materials. Soft washing uses a lower pressure application designed to treat algae, mildew, and organic buildup. Results vary depending on roof material, environmental conditions, and the type of buildup present.

Our drone delivers the soft wash solution precisely across your entire roof from above — reaching every ridge, valley, and overhang without a single worker setting foot on your roof.

🌴 All services performed by FAA Part 107 certified pilots. Fully insured across all of Florida.

WHAT WE REMOVE

Built Different From the Start

Black Streaks (Gloeocapsa Magma)

The most common Florida roof problem. This cyanobacteria forms dark streaks down your roof and feeds on the limestone in your shingles. Soft wash kills it at the source.

Moss and Lichen

Moss and lichen hold moisture against your roof surface, accelerating deterioration and wood rot. Our treatment kills and loosens growth so it washes away naturally.

Mold and Mildew

Our roof soft washing process helps treat visible mold and mildew buildup on suitable roofing surfaces.

Algae Growth

Roof algae thrive in Florida's tropical climate. Left untreated, it retains heat, shortens roof lifespan, and can invalidate some shingle warranties.

Organic Debris Staining

Leaves, berries, and organic matter leave tannin stains on your roof surface. Our soft wash formula breaks these down without scrubbing or pressure.

Dirt and Grime Buildup

Years of Florida weather, pollution, and pollen accumulate on your roof. A single soft wash treatment restores your roof to a clean, like-new appearance.

WHY DRONE VS. TRADITIONAL

No Ladders.

Better Results.

Traditional roof washing requires crews to physically access your roof — creating liability exposure and risk of shingle damage. Our drone eliminates both.

Zero Foot Traffic on Your Roof

Every crew member on your roof creates risk of shingle damage, broken tiles, and injury liability. Our drone applies the full treatment from above.

Covers More Ground, Faster

A drone can treat a full roof in a fraction of the time it takes a manual crew — less disruption to your day and no ladders blocking your driveway.

Common questions

Roof Soft Washing FAQ

Q

Is soft washing safe for all roof types?

Drone roof soft washing may be suitable for asphalt shingles, tile, metal, and other roofing materials. We evaluate each property's roof type and condition before recommending a cleaning approach.

Q

Will the cleaning solution harm my landscaping?

We take precautions to protect surrounding landscaping during roof soft washing. Before cleaning, we evaluate nearby plants, landscaping, and drainage areas to determine the appropriate protection measures for your property.

Q

How long does a roof soft wash take?

Most residential roofs are completed in 2 to 4 hours. Larger commercial roofs may take a full day. We'll give you an accurate time estimate when you book.

Q

Do I need to be home during the service?

You don't need to be present. Since no crew accesses the interior and the drone operates from the ground, we can complete the job while you're away. We'll send before and after photos when we're done.

Q

How long do the results last?

Results vary depending on roof material, weather, shade, and surrounding vegetation. Sarasota's warm, humid climate can contribute to recurring algae and mildew growth. We can discuss recommended cleaning frequency based on your property.

Q

Can soft washing void my roof warranty?

Roof warranty requirements vary by manufacturer and roofing material. We recommend reviewing your manufacturer's cleaning guidelines before scheduling service. Our team can discuss the proposed cleaning method during your property assessment.

Q

What areas of Florida do you serve?

Tropical Sun Drone Cleaning is based in Sarasota, FL, and serves Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, and surrounding Southwest Florida communities. Contact us to confirm service availability for your property.

Q

Do you offer roof and solar panel cleaning together?

Yes — and we recommend it. We offer a bundle discount when you combine roof soft washing with solar panel cleaning in the same visit. Ask about the bundle when you request your quote.
